
Private Lessons in Music and Dance: One-on-One Learning for You or Your Child
Private lessons are available in many different areas including strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, piano, organ, accordion, guitar, jazz piano, theory, composition, and voice.
Keyboard Instruments: Piano, organ, and accordion.
Study the piano with an emphasis on classical technique, jazz, or improvisation and composition. Lessons for all ages and levels. Click the link above to learn more about the many diverse options available.
Strings: Violin, viola, cello, double bass, guitar, and harp.
CMDA's comprehensive string education program encompasses private lessons in orchestral strings, all styles of guitar playing, and pedal or lever harp. Suzuki-trained instructors can work with beginners as young as age 3.
Woodwinds, Brass, and Percussion: Flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, French horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba, drum set, and orchestral percussion.
Learn to play classical or jazz, or prepare for entry into a school band or orchestra. Private lessons in woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments are appropriate for ages 8 and up.
Voice.
Study voice with an emphasis on classical/operatic, musical theatre, or popular style. Voice lessons are appropriate for ages 12 and up; younger singers are encouraged to investigate our choral singing programs.
Music Theory and Composition.
Study privately with an experienced composer and cover topics such as harmony, form and structure, orchestration, and use of technology.
Dance.
Private dance lessons are available in ballet, modern, and jazz styles.

One 30-minute lesson, once a week: $450.00 per semester (18 lessons)
One 45-minute lesson, once a week: $675.00 per semester (18 lessons)
One 1-hour lesson, once a week: $900.00 per semester (18 lessons)

Is your child ready for private lessons?
For very young children, a group learning environment such as Kindermusik or Piano-Ready Class may be the best option.
