Financial Aid

The Community Music and Dance Academy's Financial Aid program offers need-based assistance towards the following programs:

Need-based financial aid is not currently available for Stringendo.  Please call 816-235-2741 or email music-ce@umkc.edu to discuss your options if you are enrolled in one of these two programs and are experiencing financial need.

To apply for financial aid, please submit the financial aid application.  Complete applications include the following:

  • Signed application form.
  • Signed letter of recommendation from your instructor.  This letter should be written by your Community Music and Dance Academy instructor; if you are not currently a Community Music and Dance Academy student, you may request a letter of recommendation from your current music teacher or from a classroom teacher.  The letter of recommendation form is included with the application form.
  • A copy of your most recent 1040 form or other proof of income.  Please call 816-235-2741 or email music-ce@umkc.edu for a complete list of acceptable proofs of income.

Financial aid award decisions are made once a year.  All financial aid recipients must reapply annually. A completed application does not guarantee a financial aid award.  A previous financial aid award does not guarantee financial aid awards in the future.

The application deadline for the 2009 - 2010 year (awards beginning Fall 2009 and ending Summer 2010) is August 1, 2009.
