Suzanne Ryanstrati

M. Suzanne Ryanstrati studied ballet under George de la Pena, Todd Bolender, and Una Kai and modern under Bill Evans, Armando Duarte, David Dorfman, Tyrone Aiken, Alan Sener, and Bella Lewitsky. At age 19 she had her first professional dance contract under Neil Hess in Texas. Later she toured with the Bill Evans Dance Company, performing modern, jazz, and rhythmic tap in the United States and Japan. Suzanne studied Evans, Limon, Horton, Cunningham, Graham and Falco modern dance techniques.

Suzanne holds a Master of Fine Arts in dance choreography from the University of Iowa, where she studied dance pedagogy in modern and ballet, and taught modern dance and tap for 3 years. Her continued interest in education led her to the Bill Evans Summer Teacher’s Intensive, Avodah: Dance Midrash with JoAnne Tucker, and sessions with Carol Roderick of Colorado State University. Suzanne’s choreography has been performed in eight states, including New York, and internationally, most recently in London and at the Lone Star Ballet in Texas. 

Suzanne has taught dance technique at the University of Iowa, and academics including dance history, choreography and pedagogy with Storling Dance Theater's Artist Development Program.  She founded the Dance Minor program at Missouri Western State University.
