Jazz Friends is a community support organization of the UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance.
Our Vision is to help build a nationally recognized Jazz Studies Program at UMKC
Our Mission is:
- encourage the creative artistry and talent of UMKC Conservatory students and faculty,
- heighten the eminence of the Conservatory Jazz Studies Program, and
- celebrate and promote the legacy of Kansas City jazz.
The Vision and Mission goals are accomplished through student scholarship, stipends for professional jazz musicians who serve as adjunct teaching faculty, promotion of student concerts, funding for band trips, music scores, visiting artists and clinicians, and other expenses.
