Vocal Alum Sarah Tannehill Performs "Experience the Music of Jane Austen" in Kansas City

Soprano Sarah Tannehill, MM, Vocal Performance, 1999, performs "Experience the Music of Jane Austen" in a benefit for the Jane Austen Society, 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 25, Unity Temple on the Plaza, 707 W. 47th St., Kansas City, MO. Tickets: $10 General Admission at the Door, Doors open at 1:15 p.m., Cash or checks to JASNA-KC, no credit cards.

Sarah Tannehill Anderson has sung all over the world, performing operatic roles with companies including the Boston Lyric Opera, Opera Company of Philadelphia, Opera Theatre of St. Louis, and the Saarländisches Staatstheatre, Saarbrücken, Germany. Shortly after Sarah’s move to Kansas City in 2006, she received rave reviews for singing her first Ophelia in Thomas’ Hamlet with the Kansas City Lyric, after only a few hours notice. Sarah has also performed with the Chicago Chamber Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Kansas City Chamber Orchestra, newEar Ensemble of Kansas City, and the Kansas City Symphony. Sarah is enjoying her third season with the Lyric Arts Trio of Kansas City and her sixth season with the Grammy Award-winning Kansas City Chorale.

She is an adjunct professor of voice, diction and accompaniment at William Jewell College.
