Piano DMA Alum Kairy Koshoeva Receives Mu Phi Epsilon Award

Kairy Koshoeva (DMA, piano performance, 2010) who is also on the Conservatory Alumni Association board, is the recipient of the 2015 Berta Eisberg Award, given by the Kansas City Alumni Chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon International Professional Music Fraternity.  This award, established in 1997, honors the memory of Berta Eisberg, a devoted member of Mu Phi Epsilon. Mrs. Eisberg attended the Juilliard School and was a music teacher for 52 years before retiring in 1994. The fund was originally established as a graduate scholarship for a student demonstrating exceptional talent in any of the performing arts, but it may also be used to support a member engaged in remarkable professional activities.

The award recognizes Dr. Koshoeva's groundbreaking work with the Owen/Cox Dance Group in its performances of Bach's Goldberg Variations and Hindemith's Ludus Tonalis.
