UMKC Conservatory Chamber Choir Performs with The Rolling Stones
Twenty-four students and two conductors from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance Chamber Choir had a once in a lifetime experience when they joined the Rolling Stones for the encore performance at Saturday’s concert.
As the stage went from black to lights up, the Conservatory Chamber Choir started the familiar song “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.” More than 50,000 fans packed Arrowhead to hear the Rolling Stones and cheered when the UMKC Conservatory Choir was acknowledged.
“It was a great experience,” said Alexander Peuser.
“This is the biggest thing we’ll ever do,” said Bethany Unruh.
For graduate student Jacob Funk, one of the two conductors on stage Saturday night, the opportunity to lead such talented students was a great experience.
“At the Conservatory, we work with the best students and singers around,” Funk said.
