Concerto/Aria Competition 2015 Winners!
Congratulations to the winners of the 2015 Concerto/Aria Competition, who will perform with the Conservatory Orchestra in concert, Monday, April 6, 2015, 7:30 p.m., White Recital Hall. The concert is free.
David Dimmit, euphonium, performs Concerto for Euphonium, Part 1: Non troppo allegro, Part 1: Dance: Zeibékikos (1995) by Philip Wilby (b. 1949); Dan Velicer, orchestral reduction
Charles Hoeft, piano, performs Piano Concerto in F, I. Allegro (1925) by George Gershwin (1898–1937); Jordan Buchholtz, orchestral reduction
Chris White, trombone, performs Concertino for Trombone, Op. 45, No. 7 (1955) by Lars-Erik Larsson (1908–1986); Dan Velicer, orchestral reduction
Additionally, the Conservatory Orchesta will perform Wang A Mao's Impressions of Beijing Opera, the winning composition of the 2014 Gerald Kemner Prize in Orchestral Composition Competition.
