Conservatory Choral Concert Raises Money for Operation Breakthrough
The UMKC Conservatory's fifth annual "For the Children" concert to benefit Operation Breakthrough was another huge success. Five guest ensembles included 200 young singers from elementary, middle school and high school choral programs across the metro. Along with the Conservatory Concert Choir, directed by Dr. Charles Robinson, and Canticum Novum, the groups joined forces for a beautiful evening of music that was warmly received by 500+ audience members. Sister Berta Sailer and Operation Breakthrough CEO, Mary Esselman were in attendance, and Sister spoke briefly and passionately.
Generous donations at the end of the concert totaled $2,456 for this important work to help our community's children. This is one of the many ways that the UMKC Conservatory gives back to its community. We look forward to our sixth annual event next April.
