Conservatory Piano Student Sora Park Wins Chancellor's Concerto Competition


The UMKC Conservatory is pleased to announce that Sora Park, piano DMA student, who studies with Robert Weirich, has won the second annual Chancellor's Concerto Competition.  In Spring 2014 she will perform Samuel Barber's Piano Concerto, Op. 38, with the Conservatory Orchestra.

The first alternate is Pei-Lun Tsai, clarinet, who performed McAllister's X Concerto for clarinet.  The second alternate is mezzo soprano Samantha Gossard who performed Elgar's Sea Pictures, Op. 37.
