UMKC Conservatory Alum Narong Prangcharoen Joins Presser Catalogue and is Named to Music Alive Residency with Pacific Orchestra
Narong Prangcharoen (DMA composition, 2010) joins the Presser catalogue with the addition of several works for orchestra and wind ensemble. Narong has just been named to a Music Alive residency with the Pacific Symphony, for three years 2013–2016, during which time he will be closely involved with audience engagement and community outreach programs as well as writing commissioned works. Narong is in his native Thailand, (Summer 2013) at Bangkok's Thailand International Composition Festival, which he founded in 2005.
He recently made a brief visit to St. Louis, where the League of American Orchestras conference was being held, to discuss his residency with representatives from the Pacific Symphony and Music Alive officials from the League and New Music USA.
These are the new Presser additions: Anatman for Cello and Wind Ensemble, The Dawn of Darkness for Tenor Saxophone and Orchestra, Illuminations for Orchestra, Maha Mantras Concerto for Alto/Soprano Saxophone and Orchestra, Namaskar for Orchestra, Phenomenon ……the mysterious and unexplained for Orchestra, Pubbanimitta for Orchestra, Tri-Sattawat for Orchestra.
