Conservatory Piano Alum Ding Yang Is Busy with Master Classes and Recitals

Conservatory alumnus, Ding Yang (MM, piano performance, 2010) who studied with Robert Weirich, is busy traveling the world with recitals and master classes.  Here is a rundown of his recent accomplishments.

Since 2007, he has been on the faculty of Shenyang (China) Conservatory of Music and is presently a doctoral student at the University Of North Texas College Of Music, with a teaching fellow award and a special GATS Award from the Toulouse Graduate School.

In September, 2013 Ding Yang gave six solo recitals at the UMKC Conservatory, University of Cincinnati, Pittsburg State University, KS, Northern Illinois University, Wright State University and Capital University, OH, along with one master class at Pittsburg State University.

May 2013 found Ding Yang giving a series of recitals and master classes in China at Xi’An Conservatory, Guangzhou Conservatory, Shanghai East China Normal University, Jiangsu Normal University, and Shandong University at Weihai.

In 2013 July, Ding Yang gave a standing ovation recital at State University of New York-New Paltz after winning 2nd place at the Jacob Flier International Piano Competition in New York,

Finally, Ding Yang is awarded Honorary Citizenship of Flower Mound, Texas by Tom Hayden, Mayor of Flower Mound, before his solo recital at the International Chamber Series concert organized by Lewisville Lake Symphony Orchestra, October 4, 2013. Read more here.
