Conservatory Alum Samuel Green Joins Cantus
Conservatory alum Samuel Green, bass, (BME, music education, 2012), has joined Cantus, the 9-member men's singing ensemble based in Minneapolis, MN. Prior to his move north, Samuel spent a year in his hometown and alma mater as the Director of Choirs at Webb City High School, Missouri.
2006-2011, Green co-founded Ninth Hour, a southern gospel quartet based in southwest Missouri. They were featured performers in a touring production of the musical Forever Plaid, and sang on the Regional Artist Showcase at the National Quartet Convention two years in a row.
At the Conservatory, Samuel studied trombone and began singing in choirs two years into his education. He was a founding member and president of the campus-wide men’s a cappella ensemble, Amphion.
After garnering attention as a vocalist in the Conservatory, Samuel became an avid choral singer, lending his voice to several ensembles in the greater Kansas City area including the Grammy-Award winning Kansas City Chorale under the direction of Charles Bruffy, the Simon Carrington Chamber Singers, and Kantorei of Kansas City.
When not singing, Samuel enjoys exploring the Twin Cities, and keeping up with St. Louis Cardinals baseball. (adapted from Cantus website)
