UMKC Conservatory Finale Concert, May 6, 2013: Copland, Barber, Beethoven!


The UMKC Conservatory's Finale concert, May 6, 2013, 7:30 p.m. in the accoustically pristine Helzberg Hall, promises to be a gorgeous and dynamic performance. The Conservatory Orchestra, under the baton of Robert Olson performs three stellar works, opening with Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man.

Conservatory student Filip Lazovski, the inaugural Chancellor's Concerto Competition Winner, will perform Barber's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra. Filip was slated to perform this in February, but the concert was canceled due to one of the winter snow storms!

The evening will end with Beethoven's popular Symphony No. 9, including Conservatory choirs.
