Composition student Peiying Yuan wins Red Note New Music Festival Competition
UMKC Composition student Peiying Yuan's (MM, Composition, 2010) MM thesis Garapan for chamber ensemble is the winner of the Red Note New Music Festival Composition Competition, Illinois State University on 1/31/2011.
In celebration of the Illinois State University College of Fine Arts' 40th Anniversary, the RED NOTE New Music Festival held its First Annual Composition Competition. The composer of the winning work receives a $500 prize, and the work will be performed at the RED NOTE New Music Festival at Illinois State University in March 2011.
