UMKC Composition DMA Student Nicholas S. Omiccioli Wins Again


DMA Composition student Nicholas Omiccioli won 1st place prize in the 41st Mid-Atlantic and the 32nd Northeast Regional Conferences hosted by the College Music Society.

The awarded works include Insights No. 1 for solo bassoon which will be performed by Michael Burns at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro, March 5, 2011 and Invisible Worlds for flute and piano performed by Susan Charlton and Anna Maria Marzullo at Lafayette College March 18, 2011.

Omiccioli's Gestures for solo flute was accepted for performance at the CMS 30th Great Plains Regional Conference at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, March 19, 2011. UMKC alum Virginia Backman (MM flute performance, 2009) will perform the work at the conference.
