The Conservatory Academy’s March 26 Kids Club performance A Band of Stories will be an exciting extravaganza of music, dance, narration by a local celebrity, and an Instrument Petting Zoo!

Chief Meteorologist Bryan Busby, KMBC 9 News, will perform the narration for Peter and the Wolf, Family Fugue, and Casey at the Bat. Bryan Busby is also a respected timpanist.

The event includes participation from the Conservatory’s dance faculty and students, coordinated by dance professor Sabrina Madison-Cannon. Billie Mahoney, baton twirler and adjunct dance faculty will perform with Roosters Lay Eggs in Kansas.

The Kids Club performance includes New Horizons, led by faculty member Lindsey Williams. New Horizons is a wind band for adults over age 50. It is a collaboration between Johnson County Parks and Rec/Roeland Park 50+ Program and the Conservatory’s Music Education/Music Therapy Division.

The Instrument Petting Zoo, sponsored by Meyer Music, will open at 9 a.m. The Kids Club performance is at 10 a.m., White Recital Hall, James C. Olson Performing Arts Center. For tickets call 816-235-2741.
