Chin Ting (Patrick) Chan Wins MTNA Missouri Commissioned Composer

Conservatory alum Chin Ting (Patrick) Chan (DMA, composition, 2014) who teaches audio programming at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, been awarded the 2015 Missouri Music Teachers Association Composition Commission.  The next annual conference is November 2015, and funds from Missouri and the national organization are pooled for a total award of $1,500.

Chan's composition will be performed at the Nov. 2015 annual MMTA conference. His commissioned piece will be entered in the 2015 Music Teachers National Association Composition Competition.  If it wins, it would be performed at the MTNA national conference. 

Chan has gained awards and recognitions from the Interdisciplinary Festival for Music and Sound Art, Soli fan tutti Composition Prize, American Prize, ArtsKC, ASCAP, Association for the Promotion of New Music, Charlotte Street Foundation, Cortona Sessions for New Music, newEar, MidAmerican Center for Contemporary Music, MMTA/MTNA, New-Music Consortium, Portland Chamber Music Festival, as well as performances throughout the North America, Europe and Asia
