Composition DMA Student Ted King-Smith Is a Student Prize Winner for The American Prize


Ted King-Smith, a DMA composition student at the UMKC Conservatory has won 3rd place for his composition Manhattan, in the student division of the The American Prize in Composition—Band/Wind Ensemble. 

"Ted King-Smith's music is a hybrid of vernacular and contemporary music, exploring the vast sonic space between an energetic drive and a surreal stillness.
