Qizhen Liu, a DMA cello student studying with Carter Enyeart, was selected as a finalist in the New York Philharmonic Fellowship in the Music Academy of the West. This year, from more than 1600 applicants, only 140 were invited for enrollment in the academy. After severe audition rounds, Qizhen was chosen as one of the two cellists from the entire festival as finalists for the opportunity of performing with New York philharmonic.

Earlier in summer 2014, Qizhen was nvited to Sarasota Music Festival for its 50th anniversary, during which Qizhen worked with distinguished musicians such as concertmasters of Berlin Philharmonic, LA Philharmonic, Houston Symphony, and Dallas Symphony and faculty members from Curtis Music Institute, Juilliard School of Music, and Colburn Conservatory of Music.

Congratulations!
