Composition DMA Student Nick Omiccioli Wins An AME Competition


The UMKC Conservatory is pleased to note that Composition DMA student (ABD) Nicholas S. Omiccioli has won the American Modern Ensemble Eighth Annual Composition Competition in his division (ages 18–35) with his work Flourishes

More than 200 composers from North, Central and South America submitted about 250 entries in one or more categories.

Winners in each category each receive a cash prize ($300, $500 and $1,000 respectively), a performance by AME in NYC and an archival recording. Composers receiving honorable mentions as well as a few other selected works will also be considered for performances.
