Join the students of the UMKC Conservatory's Advanced Research and Bibliography course, taught by Sarah Tyrrell for the unveiling of the online Warren Durrett exhibit highlighting the life and works of Kansas City's very own Warren Durrett.

Warren Durrett (1920–2002) was a well-known and well-loved bandleader in the Kansas City area for 42 years. He also ran his own jingles business, Durrett Productions, for 16 of those years. The exhibit features details of his life, music, and contributions to the community.

The class had assistance from UMKC's Stuart Hinds in Special Collections and Chuck Haddix in the Marr Sound Archives.

There will be a brief presentation on the exhibit, followed by a reception, during which items from the archived collection, housed in the Labudde Special Collections, will be available to handle and view.

The exhibit opens Wednesday, April 30, 2014, 4:00 p.m., Miller Nichols Library, UMKC Volker Campus, 800 E 51st St., KCMO.
