Conservatory Composition Alums Ingrid Stolzel and Nick Omiccioli Featured at Khorikos Competition
March 6, 2014. The Conservatory is pleased to note that Ingrid Stölzel (DMA, composition, 09) and Nick Omiccioli (DMA, ABD) have their work featured at Ortus International, the Khorikos International New Music Competition, 2014. On March 8, the work of 10 young composers is performed in New York City's St. Anthony of Padua.
The first place winner, chosen by popular demand, is announced at the concert and presented with a special prize. Audience members have an opportunity to vote for their favorite composition. Ingrid's work, Into Being and Nick's work A Song of Joys are performed.
Ortus 2014 also features works by Evelin Seppar, Near (Estonia), Forrest Pierce, Monument (USA), Marianne R. Eriksen, Etter regnfallet (Norway), Alec Galambos, Ghazal (USA), Alexander Litvinovsky, Quoniam tu Solus Sanctus (Belarus), Frank La Rocca, Miserere (USA), Guillermo Martinez, No llores, paloma mia (Venezuela), and Kile Smith, Where Flames a Word (USA).
