Conservatory Dance Faculty Gary Abbott's Work Chosen for Kennedy Center Performance


The UMKC Conservatory is pleased to announce that dance faculty Gary Abbott's work, Tricheur, Menteur, Voleur, was chosen by the ACDFA, American College Dance Festival Association, for inclusion and performance at the ACDFA's National College Conference, June 5–7, 2014, at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington, DC.

The piece, performed by Conservatory dance students, was selected at the ACDFA regional conference, central region, March 19–22, 2014, in Chicago, IL.  Thirty schools presented 58 pieces, from which Gary's piece was chosen.

Dance student, senior Caitlin Vasser, presented her piece Fear(less) at the festival's gala event, Sat. March 22.

Conservatory dance students and faculty travel to Washington, DC to perform Professor Abbott's work in June.
