UMKC Conservatory Graduate Fellowship Woodwind Quintet Gets Honorable Mention, MTNA Chamber Music Competition


The UMKC Conservatory Graduate Fellowship Woodwind Quintet was awarded Honorable Mention in the Divisional Round of the MTNA Chamber Music Competition, Sunday, January 12, Des Moines, IA, Drake University.

The quintet won the Missouri State Round of this competition in November.

The MTNA Chamber Music Competition is a major national three-round competition open to undergraduate and graduate chamber music ensembles.

Members of the Quintet are are Karen Hauge (flute), Michael Prucha (oboe), Abby Lloyd (clarinet), Natalie Higgins (horn), and Adam Lusk (bassoon). The faculty coach is Dr. Mary Posses, Associate Professor of Flute. The group's competition program included work by Giuseppe Maria Cambini, Irving Fine, and György Ligeti.
