UMKC Conservatory is pleased to note that Conservatory faculty Chen Yi is the featured composer at Kennesaw State's Festival of New Music, Feb. 17-21, 2014.  Three nights of concerts at KSU’s Bailey Performance Center highlight the talents of composers and musicians creating new music, with a special focus on women artists.

The Men’s Ensemble and Chamber Singers perform a selection of new works, including several of Chen Yi’s Chinese folk songs. KSU’s Wind Ensemble closes the evening with selections including Chen Yi's Tu and the Georgia premiere of a marimba concerto by Christopher Theofanidis featuring KSU Director of Percussion Studies, John Lawless.
