Conservatory Vocal Alum Suzanne Hendrix Wins $10,000 George London Foundation Award

Congratulations to contralto Suzanne Hendrix (DMA Vocal Performance) who studied with Anne De Launay. Suzanne won one of six $10,000 awards (the Kirsten Flagstad Award) offered by the George London Foundation. This event is held in honor of the great Canadian bass-baritone and recognizes rising young artists of the new generation of singers.

Hendrix also won the Wagner Prize in the competition that was held at the Morgan Library in New York City, Friday, February 17, 2012. Ms. Hendrix has most recently sung Wagner's Die Walkuere with San Francisco Opera, Menotti's The Last Savage with Santa Fe Opera, and Verdi's Il Trovatore with Wichita Grand Opera.
