Composition Alum Xi Wang Wins Charles Ives Fellowship From American Academy of Arts and Letters
Xi Wang, (MM, Composition) who is Assistant Professor of Composition and Theory at Southern Methodist University's Meadows School of the Arts, Dallas, TX is one of two national recipients of the Charles Ives Fellowship from the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
The $15,000 award is presented annually to “two composers of exceptional gifts.” Xi Wang receives the award at the academy’s annual ceremony May 2012 in New York City.
Xi Wang earned a BM in composition from China's Shanghai Conservatory, MM from UMKC, and DMA from Cornell University.
