Dr. Jonathan Borja, Conservatory Alum Named as Instructor of Music, UMKC Conservatory


Jonathan Borja holds a Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music in flute performance, and a Master of Music in musicology from the Conservatory of Music and Dance, University of Missouri-Kansas City. Dr. Borja earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Principia College. Before coming to the United States, Jonathan studied at the National Conservatory of Music in his native Mexico City.

His teachers and mentors include Marie Jureit-Beamish, Mary Posses, William Everett, and Andrew Granade. Dr. Borja’s musicological research focuses on the music of Mexican composers Silvestre Revueltas and Mario Lavista.
