Percussion Alum Sam Wisman Performs and is Adjunct Instructor


Sam Wisman (BM percussion performance, 2005) is a member of the People’s Liberation Big Band, Kansas City Jazz Orchestra, Marimba Sol de Chiapas, Mark Lowrey Trio, HoraceScope and is principal percussionist for Kinnor Philharmonic; has performed with the Kansas City Symphony, Kansas City Repertory Theatre, New Theatre Restaurant, Coterie Theatre, Musical Theatre Heritage, New Jazz Order, Heartland Men’s Chorus, Owen/Cox Dance and their educational outreach, Take The Stage, and Sons of Brasil; recorded with KCJO, PLBB, Roger Wilder Quintet and the Mark Lowrey Trio; performed for the Kansas City Dance Festival, St. Louis’ Spring to Dance Festival, the Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey’s Festival on the Vine, and also with the Barclay Martin Ensemble and Krystle Warren.  Wisman is adjunct instructor, Missouri Southern State University and hosts the Monday edition of “Jazz Afternoon” on KKFI 90.1 FM Kansas City Community Radio.
