Conservatory Dancers Invited to Perform in Alabama

DancersAlabama2016.png

The Conservatory is pleased to note that the dance division is invited by Daniel Stevens, a former UMKC Conservatory student, to perform in Florence, Alabama.  Stevens, who was working on a conducting degree with Robert Olson at one time, is now the conductor of the Shoals Symphony Orchestra and on faculty at the University of North Alabama, asked dance chair Paula Weber for a full-length ballet.

Weber notes that instead of the full-length ballet, "We will do three pieces that will be performed on the Conservatory's fall concert, Gary Abbott's Bach'd, Gregory Dawson's Henriks Christine Nissen, Opus 40, and Philip Jerry's Our Town."

Thirty-one Conservatory dancers and three faculty travel to Alabama to perform, Oct. 11–14, 2016.

Congratulations!
