DMA Composition Student Nicholas S. Omiccioli Wins A New Commission for 2011


D.M.A. composition student Nicholas S. Omiccioli was awarded a commission for a new work for string quartet by the Shouse Institute at the Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival. The Shouse Institute brings young emerging ensembles to the stage. Recently, its supporters endowed a program called the Stone Fellowship to award a young composer a commission to write a new work for one of the Shouse ensembles. The new 2011 work will premiere at the Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival June 11-26, 2011 by the Jasper String Quartet.
