DMA Composition Student Nicholas S. Omiccioli Founds KCContinuum with Conservatory Students and Alumni
KCContinuum was founded by UMKC Conservatory Composition DMA student/composer Nicholas S. Omiccioli to present works by established and emerging international composers written after 1945. KCContinuum believes in promoting the music of today that evolved out a tradition and expanding audiences’ exposure to infrequently performed contemporary music. For the ensemble’s inaugural concert, the KCContinuum will present trios, duos, and solo works by Carter, Crumb, Takemitsu, Husa, and Omiccioli. The current ensemble includes current students Gabrielle Baffoni (DMA, clarinet), Alice Huang (AC, cello), Keel Williams (AC, bassoon), and alumni Jonathan Borja (DMA, 2010, flute) and Christina Webster (DMA, 2010, flute).
KCContinuum's debut concert is Tues. Jan. 25, 7:30 p.m., Swarthout Recital Hall, University of Kansas, Lawrence. The concert is FREE.For more information, please contact:
