Sphinx Chamber Orchestra Gets Excellent Shout Out in the New York Times! See them here Oct. 24!

Here's some of what Allan Kozinn has to say about them: "The SPHINX ORGANIZATION, established in 1996 and based in Detroit, is devoted to cultivating a passion for classical music in black and Latino students. Mainly, it does this in the most direct, hands-on way: by teaching children to play instruments and to work their way through the orchestral and chamber music repertories. Now the organization has a national reach, and its results have been impressive: more than 85,000 students around the country have participated in its programs, and it has awarded about $1.62 million in prizes in its annual competitions."
