Conservatory alum Narong Prangcharoen (DMA Composition, 2010), who also teaches at the Conservatory's Academy, has the world premiere of his work The Migration of Lost Souls, at New York's Carnegie Hall, 7:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 26, 2012.

Prangcharoen is the 2011 winner of ACO’s Underwood Commission.

The program is a multicultural program of new music performed by the American Composers Orchestra, led by José Serebrier.

Not surprisingly, Narong's student, Julian Bickford, who studied with Narong at the Academy, won a regional Emmy in the category of musical composition/arrangement in the 36th Annual Mid-America Emmy Awards held at the Midland Theatre in downtown Kansas City.  The composition was for a Kauffman Center video.

Congratulations to both!
