CONSERVATORY SCHOLARSHIPS, ASSISTANTSHIPS, AND FELLOWSHIPS

Conservatory scholarships are available to full-time students. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of performance ability and/or interview with academic program faculty. The Conservatory currently has over 80 scholarship accounts providing financial assistance to approximately 40% of our students. Additionally, the Conservatory provides graduate assistantships, graduate teaching assistantships, and fellowships to an additional 58 students.

Conservatory scholarships do not require a separate application. Students are automatically considered for scholarship consideration at the audition and/or interview, or in the case of composition, upon evaluation of the submitted portfolio.

Conservatory assistantships and fellowships do require a separate application in addition to the Conservatory Supplemental Application for Admission and Audition. For a complete listing of these graduate aid opportunities please browse the Conservatory Graduate Student Position booklet. Application for these graduate funding opportunities is via the GTA/Fellowship Application.

Now for a word about the non-resident fees. The Conservatory has a strong and successful history of working with the UMKC Financial Aid and Scholarship Office to provide non-resident scholarships to music and dance students. Freshman students should pay careful attention to the requirements for the following UMKC scholarships. The geographic restrictions listed on the Chancellor's Scholar Award and the UMKC Undergraduate Award do not apply to Conservatory students from the United States.

All accepted Conservatory applicants who meet the qualifications for this scholarship are nominated by the Conservatory's admissions office for this award.
