Ways To Give To The Conservatory
We invite you to join other graduates and friends of the Conservatory who generously
support programs, scholarships and other initiatives through their gifts.
When your gift is not specifically directed, we use the funds for important current
initiatives, which could include equipment purchases, guest artists, program enhancement,
student support - any number of important activities.
You can honor a faculty member or particular area of interest by contributing to
an already existing, permanent scholarship endowment named for a Conservatory faculty
member, or designating your gift toward a specific area such as "Piano"?"Dance"?.."Orchestra"?..whatever
your passion.
Your gift of $10,000 or more can be set up as an endowment. The principal is invested,
with income (usually about 5 percent) used to support a specific purpose, such as
a named scholarship.
To enhance the faculty at the Conservatory, your gift of $750,000 or more can endow
a professorship; $1,500,000 to endow a chair - both of which serve to attract some
of the top talent in the country to teach at UMKC.
Your gift may be in another form, such as securities, real estate, and other tangible
gifts.
A deferred gift lets you make a gift of a magnitude not possible during your lifetime.
A bequest could leave cash, property or securities to the Conservatory in your will
or living trust - it's the easiest and most popular deferred gift method. There
are several deferred gift options that can provide you with income during your lifetime
while ultimately benefiting the Conservatory.
These include Charitable Remainder Unitrusts, Charitable Remainder Annuity Trusts
and Pooled Income Funds. A planned gift qualifies you for membership in
the Robert H. Flarsheim
Society.
