How to Apply
- Gather your materials
- Official transcripts demonstrating a minimum overall undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher in a completed bachelor's degree in music education or the equivalent.
- Names and locations of previous college(s) and dates you attended.
- Citizenship, residency and visa information (if applicable).
- A current professional resume
- Two references: List the names and contact information of your references, and the application system will send an email to them requesting that they submit a letter of recommendation on your behalf. Letters of recommendation must be received by Feb. 1.
- Recent video recording that demonstrates your musical proficiencies as applicable to the music education setting. (May include your own performance or performance of students you teach.)
- Following submission of these materials, applicants must complete an interview with the faculty. A member of the faculty will contact you to schedule this interview. An audition is not required.
- Transcripts and test scores may be sent in after the Dec. 1 Conservatory application deadline but must be received by UMKC Admissions by Feb. 1.
- Complete the online application
- $45 for domestic graduate students or $75 for international graduate students
