Spring Solo Festival

Join us on for the UMKC Conservatory Academy’s annual Spring Solo Festival! The event date and registration deadline for 2026 will be announced soon.

The Spring Solo Festival provides an opportunity for students at all levels and ages to be adjudicated by our Conservatory faculty and alumni. Registration is open to all instruments, voice types and original composition/songwriting! 

What to Expect

All participants will receive written comments, a ranking from adjudicators and a Spring Solo Festival medal. Additionally, the adjudicators will select 10 students as a top performers. These students will receive a trophy indicating their high ranking and will be invited to perform at the Academy’s Honors Recital!

Format Options (In-Person and Virtual)

Students may choose to sign up for an in-person or virtual performance during registration. Please read the Spring Solo Festival Rules and Guidelines for detailed information on both formats.

  • Live Performances will take place at Grant Hall (5228 Charlotte Street). Performance times and instructions will be sent to teachers prior to the event.
  • Virtual Performances will be evaluated on the same day as live performances. Students selecting a virtual performance MUST submit at least five days prior to evaluation day.

Registration and Fees

  • The registration fee is $25.00 per entry.
  • If registering for more than one instrument, you will need to pay the $25 fee twice.

UMKC faculty, staff and students receive a 50% discount on their registration fee. To have this discount applied to your account, please email the Academy office.
