UMKC Annual Jazz Festival

UMKC’s Annual Jazz Festival Will Take Place on Thursday March 5th, 2026 at James P. Olson Performing Arts Center.

The UMKC Conservatory is delighted to invite you and your student jazz ensemble to our campus for a day of music, learning, and inspiration. Your group will have the opportunity to perform and receive a clinic from our amazing faculty of Carl Allen, Marcus Lewis, Stephen Martin, Nate Nall and Roger Wilder. Each ensemble will be scheduled for three 30-minute blocks that include a warm-up, performance, and clinic.

As part of the festival experience, we will also present a special mid-day concert featuring our students and an evening concert with the UMKC Jazz Orchestra featuring our guest artist/clinician, saxophonist, composer, author, recording artist and educator Dr. Damani Phillips!

Groups will be accepted on a first come first served basis.   Act fast, because there are only 20 spots available, and they will fill up quickly!  We look forward to hearing your students and working with them for a day of fun, learning, and memories.
