UMKC Summer Flute Institute

Overview

When:

  • June 28 – July 2 (high school track)
  • June 28 – July 3 (Suzuki track)

This year’s Summer Flute Institute offers two separate tracks, one for high school students and one for Suzuki flutists with their families.

  • High School Track (grades 9-12) - Daily activities for high school students include masterclasses, daily workshops, flute choir and more. With its focus on individualized instruction, the high school curriculum is designed to benefit all students, regardless of background and experience.
  • Suzuki Track (grades K – 6) - Daily activities for Suzuki flute students include masterclasses, repertoire (group) classes, and enrichment. The Suzuki flute track will be a great way for current Suzuki families to enhance their year-round flute learning.
Both tracks culminate with student performances celebrating the week’s work. We look forward to seeing you on UMKC’s campus in June!
