The Conservatory is pleased to announce that saxophone student Chase Shumsky, who studies with Zachary Shemon was chosen by Conservatory faculty to receive the Presser Foundation Undergraduate Scholar Award for the 2019–2020 academic year. As the recipient of this prestigious award, Chase receives $4000.00 to be used at his discretion—this may be applied toward tuition, housing costs and other expenses normally incurred in pursuit of a degree or for musical advancement opportunities not normally provided in a university or conservatory setting. Chase was selected for this award based on his academic and musical achievements at UMKC during his first three years of study.
