Saxophone student Jonathon Nickell is the winner of the 2022 Chancellor's Competition, held May 2, 2022. He performed Waignein's Rhapsody for Alto Saxophone and Orchestra (2010), accompanied by faculty Dan Velicer, as orchestra reduction. Nickell studies with Zachary Shemon.
1st alternate is Crystal Jiang, piano with Ken Lin as orchestral reduction.
2nd alternate is Matteo Generani, piano with Tenson Liang playing orchestral reduction.
