In an April 13, 2021 article by Cathy Whitlock, The Hollywood Reporter has named the UMKC Conservatory as one of the World's Top Ten Costume Design Schools. The Conservatory shares this honor with CalArts, NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, Wimbledon College of Arts, University of the Arts London, and other prestigious institutions.
The article quotes Professor of Costume Design Lindsay Davis, "'Every student has a dream, and we give students enough technical skills to stay afloat monetarily and still work within the industry. No one designs big splashy productions immediately,' says professor Lindsay Davis."
