About

Lisa Anderson Bongers has been one of the most sought after operatic stage managers in the U.S. and Europe. For the past 30 years Lisa has worked with notable artists including Peter Sellers and John Adams and their world premiere of Doctor Atomic, several productions with Laurent Pelly, as well as more than 20 productions with Francesca Zambello—including the Ring Cycle for Washington National Opera and San Francisco Opera.

Lisa’s career has included off-Broadway with artists John and Aida Turturro, dance companies Alvin Ailey and San Francisco Ballet, and has been able to see the world working in most of the 50 states, as well as in Italy, Germany, Austria, and Belgium.  She has also had the pleasure of working with the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra Association and the San Francisco Symphony under the batons of conductors Michael Tilson Thomas, Jaap van Zweden and Yannick Nézet-Séguin. Ms. Anderson Bongers has also worked extensively in video and film doing theatrical releases, streaming releases, Great Performances for PBS, and simulcasts as associate director, assistant director and editor.  As a guest lecturer, Lisa has taught for UMKC, San Francisco State University, University of Kansas, Howard University and University of Ohio, and Opéra Royal de Wallonie (Liège, Belgium).  

Lisa is  a proud graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City with degrees in theater, and video and film production.
