Dr. Lidge holds degrees in conducting from the University of Illinois-Champaign, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Prior to his appointment in 1985, Dr. Lidge taught conducting, theory and history in colleges in Illinois, South Dakota, and North Carolina. Currently, Dr. Lidge teaches undergraduate theory, ear training and music appreciation and has participated in several research projects, concerning the teaching of solfege in sightsinging-ear training class. Dr. Lidge is a recipient of the Muriel S. Kauffman Excellence in Teaching Award.
