The Baby and Me music program is a comprehensive developmental program for typically developing children and children at risk for developmental delays, ages 6 months to 3 years. Led by a board-certified music therapist, parents/caregivers will not only bond with their little ones, but will learn how to help their young child reach physical, communication, social, and cognitive goals through fun, interactive songs and materials that are found around the house – no instruments needed!
Group Piano Classes emphasize age-appropriate piano instruction with general musicianship activities to promote overall musical development. Skills taught include listening, singing, rhythm, large and small motor movements, keyboard technique and performance, and music appreciation. Students will play the piano individually and in groups. Parental participation and having a piano or keyboard at home is recommended.
All classes are designed for beginner students. If your child has 3-12 months experience, please contact the Academy office to have them placed in a more advanced class or private lessons
The Music College Prep course is designed to help prepare students who wish to continue their music studies into college. Students who simply wish to become more rounded musicians, are also welcome! Each class will be evenly divided between music theory fundamentals and group piano skills.
The course will provide acting students with the tools they need to be successful performers for theater, film and television. Students will learn how to audition and to analyze scripts to make strong decisions in performance that help them become confident storytellers. Students will work on monologues, scene and improvised scenarios over the course of the session thus learning new strategies and techniques to easily memorize and deliver confident performances while becoming confident and polished storytellers. Additional sessions on various topics such as stage design and tech may be offered to students throughout the school year.
