The UMKC Conservatory is pleased to note that Composition DMA and Musicology MM student Daniel Morel has won the Elliott S. Schwartz Prize for best student composition at the 2017 College Music Society Northeast Conference, March 17–18, 2017, SUNY-Plattsburg, New York.
Morel's piece is KC Blue, performed by the Lilac 94 Harp Duo. The prize also comes with a monetary award.
