Composition DMA Student Bo Li Wins 2nd in International Competition

The Conservatory is pleased to note that second year DMA composition student Bo Li has won the Second Prize and the Performers Favorite Work Award with his orchestral work Winter Brings at the 2016–2017 NCPA Young Composer Program (a Chinese composition competition for orchestral works organized by the China National Centre for the Performing Arts) in Beijing, China.

Bo Li's work was performed by the China Philharmonic at the NCPA under the baton of Zhang Yi, Dec. 13, 2017, at the competition’s final concert. The winning composer will receive a commission of a new orchestral work from the NCPA, and the winning work will be performed again by the NCPA Orchestra in its 2018/2019 concert season.
