Composition Student Bo Li Is Finalist in International Competition

The Conservatory is pleased to note that second year DMA composition student Bo Li is one of four international finalists in the Toru Takemitsu Composition Competition.  The judge, Unsuk Chin has selected the four out of the 143 entries.  They are:

Barnaby Martin (UK) Quanta for Large Orchestra
Lukas Hövelmann-Köper (Germany) Quantum Vacuum for Orchestra
Bo Li (China) Sleeping in the Wind for Orchestra
Paulo Brito (Brazil/USA) Staring Wei Jie to Death: Symphonic Evocation Based on an Episode from Chinese Antiquity, for Orchestra

The four pieces will be performed at the final concert, May 27, 2018, 3 p.m., Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall, Takemitsu Memorial. Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Yoichi Sugiyama, conductor.
